Today I'm Loving...

For lack of a man to love me, I have begun to embrace the warm fuzzies brought about by retail therapy, especially that of the online variety.  And so, I have spent a great deal of my free time as summer comes to a close getting lost in the online shopping sphere and perusing a variety of sites, and thus bring you some adorable shoes I found this morning!

Far & Away

My itchy feet have settled in the clean green earth that is Vermont.

I've been here for five days now, and I have to say that this is the happiest I have felt in a long while.  Plenty of reading, some small writings, and plenty of amusements to keep me very busy.

The town of Woodstock is absolutely lovely.  There is so much sweetness and charm in this small little burrow, and I've had several excellent opportunities to explore the little alcoves and shops along the main street.  I can't help but think throughout each day how much I am going to miss this place when I have to leave, and I'm so wishing that there was some way that I could stay here for a good long while.  Unfortunately it doesn't seem that there are many teaching opportunities available, and ultimately the cost of living in a place like this doesn't really align with a teacher's salary.  And yet.

I always thought that maybe I could be more than just a teacher anyhow.

Best not to dwell too heavily on things to come I suppose; it seems much more practical to think of the present and enjoy and be grateful for the opportunities I have before me over the next several summer weeks.

The lights fade as I drive out of town...

In a sudden change of events and directions, I have made the decision to live in Vermont for the summer.

I have the opportunity to be the, and I quote, "Supervisor of Summer Educational Enrichment"  (i.e. nannying with an education focus) for a darling family.

I leave on Friday, and won't be returning to Maine until it's time to start teaching again, and I have to say that this is an unexpected blessing.  I've finally reconnected with someone who I did not have nearly enough time with, and I'm so very, very excited to see where things will go.  The time that I have spent in Vermont has already been the most beautiful and calming time that I have had in years, and I feel as though the next weeks will only be more lovely than those that came before.

Expect many, many posts about the charming town in which I'll be living, and tons of photos as evidence that this place is, indeed, Heaven on Earth.

Another day, another beach...

Living at the beach does have its perks.

But it seems that living on the beach, having the summer of from teaching, and having friends who work full time jobs becomes an exhaustive recipe for a vacation rather quickly.

On the bright side, I'm sporting a perfect bronze glow.

In other news, I'm currently in awe of Anthropologie's present line of dresses.  Exquisite, airy, and ultra feminine, they are quickly becoming a high point of inspiration for my own sewing endeavors.  Par example:
